When you use insurance to pay for mental health, the insurance company gets to decide what type of treatment and how many sessions you get based on their standards rather than what may be best for you. Does counseling work?

This is by far our most asked question, especially with marriage counseling, and the answer is yes. For counseling to work you must put forth effort and make changes. The only time counseling does not work is when a person hopes that venting about their challenges will make them better. Only making the changes and pushing forward will yield the results you desire.

Who will know about our counseling sessions?

Similar to a doctor’s office, only those you consent to on the release form will know about the sessions. Your confidentiality is important to us, and we will always make that a priority. Another reason we do not accept insurance is that insurance companies can legally demand we break your confidentiality to provide them with information about sessions.
